ELVIS
ATE ALL THE PIES
posted
on Monday 2 June 2002
 |
He's
back in the limelight with 'A Little Less Conversation', one of Presley's
lesser-known tracks taken from his 1968 movie Live A Little Love A
Little. The remix features in the Nike commercial called 'The Secret
Tournament' and the original track has already featured this year
in the Ocean's Eleven movie. According to The Great Food Almanac by
Irena Chalmers, the last food that Elvis Presley ate was four scoops
of ice cream and 6 chocolate chip cookies.

NEW
VANILLA COCA COLA!
posted on Thursday 9 May 2002
 |
Coca-Cola is to launch a Vanilla version of its flagship
drink to ween increasingly health conscious Americans back on to the
bad stuff. Pepsi meanwhile is lauching an electric blue, berry-flavoured
version in August - no plans for a launch in Britain though. Darn!

MOBY
DRINKS TEA
posted on Thursday 2 May 2002
 |
Techno star Moby is opening a new cafe serving just Tea!
It's called 'Teany' and it's situated in the heart of New York. Whether
it's the British obsession rubbing off on the Americans, or just a
well needed change from the coffee house culture - Tea stateside is
taking off big time. Meanwhile rivals 'Serendipitea' announced that
"Tea is New York's new wine". How well they master the fine art of
cream teas remains to
be seen....

LIVE
OFF THE ROYALTIES
posted on Monday 29 April 2002
 |
Sexy popsters, Sugababes are at number one with a track orginally
written by raven haired rocker Gary Numan. He makes 50 percent royalties
everytime the remix of his hit song 'Cars' is played. In the brilliant
new film 'About A Boy', Hugh Grant also plays a rich idle layabout
who lives off the royalties of his dads dreadful one hit wonder -
a cheesy christmas song. We love the lazy life...

THE
HULK TRANSFORMATION
posted on Monday 22 April 2002
 |
According
to a source at Ain't
It Cool the new Ang Lee movie will change the
way The Hulk transforms. Apparently he will gradually change throughout
the running of the film. So you won't see David Banner wake-up, totally
disorientated, by a smashed up garbage can, in just his torn trousers,
and no more shouting at the screen "Run for it, his eyes have gone
funny, he's changing" - Or was that just me? Click here
to see the story. For more news check out my exclusive spacerUK round-up

COOL
NEW GADGET...!
posted on Friday 19 April 2002
 |
For £40 you get a CD, a wire, and a small digital camera
on a keyring. The images are small and only 72dpi - but for snooping
around at a budget they're great. It's the fastest selling item ever
at Firebox (they're being snapped up, going like
a shot etc.) We did a quick search on Google to see the buzz. If you've got one or
are going to get one - be nice and let us know what you think.

'LAZY'
NUMBER ONE!
posted on Friday 5 April 2002

We reckon it's going to reach the top of the charts. The
song 'Lazy' is a collaboration between ex-Talking Heads vocalist David
Byrne (pictured) and dance act X-Press 2. It’s a tribute to the lazy
life and it’s due to be a massive hit ! Read the full-lyrics, see
some other lazy related tunes and find out more about the singer in

simply open it, press a button underneath and Hey Presto - hot coffee!

CHOCOLATE IS GOOD
posted on Friday 29 March 2002
 |
Chocolate isn't all bad,
infact it can be quite good for you. Number One: It has more Iron
than any vegetable. Number Two: Cocao is an excellent source of potassium
and phosphorous, as well as zinc, copper and manganese. Number Three:
Scientists have discovered that chocolate may be as good as, or even
better for you, than red wine. Great! You may want to read more in
this new book!

WILLY WONKA
RE-MAKE!
posted on Tuesday 26 March 2002

It's
one of our favourite old movies - even if the stage sets now look
a little dated. There's one thing they can't improve upon - the brilliant
Gene Wilder (now aged 66) who played Willy Wonka. This may explain
why Nic
Cage is front-runner to play the NEW Willy Wonka...

POSH SPITS IT OUT
posted on Monday 25 March 2002
 |
Posh Spice will feature in a new Ad campaign for crisps company
Walkers and she is getting paid a wopping £250,000 for it. However,
fussy Posh wouldn't eat the new snack and would spit it out at the
end of each take. Here at spacerUK we love crispy snacks almost as
much as biscuits, so we think this is the perfect excuse to take the
piss out of skinny people for a change in our new skinny gallery... you won't believe how popular this
has been so far....

NOT SHITTY, BANG BANG
posted on Saturday 23 March 2002

1.5 tonnes of car swings around the stage in a dramatic theatre adaptation of
this classic childrens movie. We've seen the stage show before its
official launch on April 16 and it's fantastic. Originally written
by James Bond's Ian flemming (hence all the gadgety cars in the 007
films), it's a must see for spacer's who dream of having one car that
carries them across air, land and sea - all in one go...

INSERT FATBOY SLIM PUN

Fat is the new thin when it comes to male pop stars. Portly
popsters piling on pounds include Norman Cook, Bryan McFadden (Westlife),

Nick Carter from the Backstreet Boys and of course once slim James
Dean Bradfield from Manic Street Preachers. Cool....

Hey students! If you haven’t
got digital TV yet and don’t want to pay a fortune to get it then
try this idea. It’s a new set-top box that provides all the free
digital chanels for a one off price of just £99 (with not a monkey in site!). It converts as many
TV’s as you want, there’s no monthly fee and you can upgrade to pay
TV later. With the analogue TV switch-off in just a few years this
may be the solution you need (and cheapest).

I'VE WON
FREE BEER!
posted on Wednesday 6 March 2002
 |
Our
latest FREE beer
prize could not have gone to a nicer winner. Stella Sawyer walks away
with 24 cans of the finest Stella Artois (the name really is just
a coincidence). Stella discovered she'd won when she typed her name
into google - and got in touch right away. She loves entering competitions
and has recently won an equally glamourous trip to Iceland in June.
"Thankyou so much, I'll crack open a beer right away" she tells us,
"I love the web, now it's even better than the TV!". We couldn't agree
more. Read more about her prize on ours or the loquax

JOHNNY
VEGAS' BIG SECRET
posted on Tuesday 26 February 2002

Popular
Comedian Johnny Vegas spent many months on the dole before fame struck
and often got "smashed on cheap wine during the day in the flat".
Respect due. However we want to announce that Johnny's real name is
in fact Quentin. Not quite so tough is it? It may be Michael Pennington
as well but that's not quite so funny

why, yet again are the Brits the last to hear about it?
