invisibles interview

We often become far too enthusiastic about the web, especially when a site like this comes along. The section that stood out was INVISIBLES, basically movie stills with heads and bodies airbrushed out. You have to guess the movie, and it's much harder than it looks!

We put some questions to Brian Kirk to find out more about his site...

Hi Brian, thanks for doing this interview

"Hi Rob, glad you're interested in the site! Here are some short answers for you..."

How long do you spend on your site a week/day?

"Too much. For me personally, it probably works out to about 25 hours a week, something like that. A lot of that time is spent creating Invisibles and other quizzes, and a lot of it is doing HTML maintenance and admin stuff, or just sitting in front of the computer taking screen shots from DVDs.

When I started the site a few years ago I was unemployed which was great, but now I've got a full-time job on top of FilmWise, so it can get pretty stressful sometimes. It's a true labor of love!"

What's your favourite movie?

"Jim (my FilmWise partner) and I were discussing our favorite movies a couple of days ago, and Pulp Fiction tops both of our lists if we have to go with just one.

I realize that's almost cliche to pick Pulp, but I think it's an absolutely brilliant film. We have other sentimental favorites, like Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and others."

Where do you see the site going in a years time, developments etc?

"This is an interesting question. This week, we are signing on with the William Morris Agency in Hollywood to have them represent FilmWise.

The main areas we're going to pursue are television shows and books. From the get-go, Jim and I always wanted to see FilmWise books and/or a TV show, and hopefully we're off and running!

That's it for now...

"Let me know if you have any more questions, or if you'd like longer answers. Now some questions for you...

Is SpacerUK a print magazine as well as a website? If so, is the FilmWise "interview" going to run in the print version? If so, can we get copies of the magazine sent to us once it's printed? Thanks! Bri"

We take that as a compliment, but sadly not...

Thanks for your time!
