Richard Desmond, the ageing porn publisher, this week launched a weekly celebrity magazine called 'New!' - yep, an unashamed rip-off of similar sounding 'Now!' magazine (published by the UK based 'IPC Media' and owned by American company 'AOL Time Warner'). The independent UK company Northern and Shell, owned by Desmond also created 'OK' (rip-off of Spanish owned 'Hello'), 'Hot Stars' (rip-off of UK's 'Heat') and 'Hot Celebs' (rip-off of 'News of The World's' 'Sunday magazine')... so is he a clever business man who syndicates features across his titles, or a poor imitator of other people's hard work? You decide.

Should you
worry about your bad habits? The oldest man in the US died this week at
the ripe old age of 113. Up until now John McMorran was the world's fourth
oldest man and was 74 when The Beatles first appeared on the Ed Sullivan
show. He said Coffee was his Elixir, and he didn't give up smoking cigars
until he was 97 years old. Kind of gives hope to the rest of us...
